Erroneous Renditions

Scary reading from Dana Priest at the Washington Post. $Q:
Masri was held for five months largely because the head of the CIA's Counterterrorist Center's al Qaeda unit "believed he was someone else," one former CIA official said. "She didn't really know. She just had a hunch."

This on the eve of the Secretary of State's visit to win European support for CIA tactics.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself - FDR.

"Today we are all Americans" - enter those who were waiting, hoping for fear, ready to exploit it -- the doctrine of preemptory strikes............ to a promotional torture campaign because America can only think to fight evil with evil?

When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on - FDR.

When Rice/America comes calling, she'll represent a stranger, an administration calling upon America and the world to let go of her principles, her ideals because... it's easier, because we can't rise above cowardly terrorists, think smarter, hold onto who we are and what we represent, find a better way.

The world is struggling to "hang on," unwilling to let go of the idea, ideals of America. I think America has more friends than she knows.

Rules are not necessarily sacred, principles are - FDR.
